PLL Style Guide: Emily Fields

Hey guys! So, I previously posted a blog on how to dress like Hanna Marin from Pretty Little Liars. Today I decided to do another PLL Style Guide on how to dress like Emily Fields! Emily is known as the star swimmer at Rosewood High and the athletic one of the group. Her style definitely reflects her image. She dresses very sporty and tom-boyish...She definitely goes for more simple pieces. Although her style is definitely more casual and less flashy than the other girls' styles, she still always looks perfect and never boring! Want to know how to dress more like Emily Fields? Keep reading!

Mix simple, masculine pieces with bright, girly pieces to look sporty, with a feminine touch. 

In this outfit, Emily wore a denim skirt
with sneakers but added a girly touch
with the light colored striped top and light
blue cardigan. 

Emily likes to mix jeans, hoodies and sneakers with very feminine, girly accessories and other bright colored pieces of clothing.



To emulate this, maybe mix jeans and sneakers with a simple, plain top and a colored cardigan like in this outfit.

Emily always looks very comfortable and like she's ready to go do something active. 

To look comfortable and active, look for a hoodie or athletic jacket with a twist. Whether it's just being a bright color, or having a cool pattern, Emily wears simple, casual pieces with a unique twist. 

Here, she wore a standard running jacket, but being fuchsia, navy and bright green makes it stand out more than just any other plain running jacket.

To re-create this outfit, pair a colorful athletic  top/jacket with plain joggers and sneakers just like Emily would. 

                                                                  

Last but not least for the clothing portion of this guide, jewelry! 

As far as jewelry goes, Emily isn't one to wear dramatic, statement pieces. You're more likely to see her wearing small stud earrings, simple hoops, or a few delicate layered necklaces like in these photos.

For hair and makeup, Emily usually goes for a subtle, "no-makeup" look and natural looking hair. 

Emily's hair is often styled in loose, non-structured waves. To achieve this effortless look, brush your hair out to get all of the tangles out. Then, start picking out 1-2 inch random sections of hair and wrap them around a large barrel curling iron. Change up the amount of time you hold the hair around the iron for a more messy look. Let the curl drop down, and after you've curled the majority of your hair, spritz a little hairspray in and mess up the curls with your fingers. 

Her makeup is usually very natural looking. To re-create Emily's look, use a matted light brown color all over you're lid. Then, blend a darker brown into the crease and add a little bit of white, shimmery shadow to your inner corner to brighten up your eyes. As for lips, she usually wears a nude, pink matte lipstick. Sometimes she adds a clear gloss to the center of her lips to make them appear fuller.

Top 10 TV Shows to Watch this Fall/Winter

Do you ever find yourself bored, looking for something to watch, but there's nothing good on? I know I definitely do! If you live somewhere with rough winters, you know how boring and long the cold, winter months can feel. Without the sun shining, you probably won't be able to do all of the outdoor activities you can do in the summer. Here are (in my opinion) the top 10 best  TV shows worth binge-watching.

Charmed- 

A supernatural drama, this show never fails to entertain! Charmed follows three sisters- Piper, Pheobe and Prue (later replaced by Paige, their long-lost half-sister) - who happen to be witches (the good kind). Throughout the show, they discover their destiny- to use their powers to battle the forces of evil and protect the mortals. Along with their battles against demonic creatures, you'll also see their normal sisterly battles and relationship drama. Give it a watch, and I promise you'll never be bored! -Starring Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Shannon Doherty, Rose McGowan and Brian Krause.

Ghost Whisperer- 

This fantasy drama starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and David Conrad revolves around a newlywed, Melinda Gordan, who owns an antique shop and possesses a rare gift...she has the ability to communicate with earthbound spirits- spirits who have unresolved business with the living. She uses her ability to help the spirits so they can cross over. She deals with terrifying visions, doubt from skeptics, dangerous conditions and mourning friends and family members, so she can help them get their messages to their loved ones and move to the other side. 

Slogan: The dead are talking...and she's listening.

Glee- 

If you like singing and dancing and you're looking for a light-hearted program, try Glee! Glee is a show about a diverse group of high school outcasts who form a glee club that helps them find acceptance, friends and the strength and courage to use their voices. The show shows the kids dealing with their personal issues and expressing their feelings through music. Although the premise is lighthearted- which it is at times- Glee offers a more realistic (though exaggerated) depiction of high school and deals with some heavy topics. These topics include bullying, insecurities, sexuality, death and much more. -Starring Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley

Slogan: A biting comedy for the underdog in all of us.

This show follows a bubbly, spontaneous music teacher in her mid to late twenties named Jess. After a bad breakup, she needs to find a new place to live as fast as she can. Nick- a jaded, law-school dropout who is disappointed in how his life is turning out, Winston- a competitive former athlete who's trying to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, and Schmidt- a sometimes arrogant and flashy businessman who loves women. Seeing that Jess is naive and sometimes oblivious to a lot of things, the three guys take her under their wing and try to help her out. Starring- Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield.

Young & Hungry-

A young, wealthy and handsome tech entrepreneur named Josh hires a feisty, bubbly food blogger named Gabi to be his personal chef. After a one-night stand that they decide to never speak of again, the two are left with complicated, unresolved feelings for each other and an undeniable connection that everyone around them notices. Starring- Emily Osment and Jonathon Sadowski

90210: The Next Generation-

This remake of the famous '90's classic surrounds a family from Kansas that moves to Beverly Hills. The two teenagers, Annie and Dixon Wilson have to adjust to the different environment at  West Beverly Hills High School. They become acquainted with Naomi Clark, the extremely wealthy Queen Bee, Erin Silver (who goes by Silver)- a rebel, desperate to be unique and stand out, Adrianna Tate-Duncan- a talented actress and musician who becomes consumed by a drug addiction and much more. If you like intense drama, you'll love 90210! Starring- Shenae Grimes-Beech, Tristan Wilds, Annalynne McCord, Michael Steger, Jessica Stroup and Jessica Lowndes

Blair is her so-called best friend who's tired of living in her friend's shadow. She's constantly competing with Serena and plotting to take her down so she can become the new "it-girl." Get hooked on this show for a look at the betrayal, drama and complicated relationships in these girls' lives. Starring- Blake Lively and Leighton Meester

This series surrounds a typical 15-year old girl named Amy Juergens. She's the star swimmer and a lot of her teammates look up to her.They're reunited when they realize someone is plotting to ruin their lives. A mysterious stalker who goes by the name "A" begins sending them messages threatening to expose their deepest, darkest secrets- secrets that as far as they knew, only Alison knew.
